Once Upon A Time, We Stepped Off A Cliff

I think I have a brain condition. Here are my symptoms …

I have to say things. If I see something, I have to say something. And I'm somehow compelled to express it to the Universe, even if the Universe is not listening (total FAIL on its part, lol). But it has to be said anyway. That’s my pathology.

I recognize that this is a condition that most people do not share. There are so many people who are cool with keeping everything private, and insular, and have zero interest in broadcasting their thoughts anywhere outside some tight trusted circle.

That’s the majority. The norm. I get it — I’m the weird one.

Me and my wife left life as we knew it, and did something completely crazy, and I need to post what happened.

From 2018 to now, what were the thoughts at the time and the decisions made that led to this state we found ourselves in. We stepped off the cliff, the terra firma of security, house, car, stuff and stuff and stuff. And after the giddy release of freefall through 18,000 miles at sea aboard SV Amari, we have hit land.

We landed in the it-doesn’t-suck land of New Zealand.

So in addition to telling this backstory, I’ll talk about being in NZ. Seatbelts and tray tables in the upright and locked positions, here we go.
